Tom Walper is an accomplished executive, attorney, and board director with more than 40 years of experience guiding companies and creditors through complex financial restructurings and strategic transformations. He is the President of Walper Advisory Inc. and previously spent nearly 30 years as a partner at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP. He also served as Head of Corporate Restructuring at Plainfield Asset Management; a hedge fund focused on distressed and opportunity investments.

Since retiring from legal practice in 2025, Walper has served on several public and private company boards, including recently 23andMe and subsidiaries of QVC Group Inc. He is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy and is widely recognized as a leading advisor in bankruptcy and restructuring. Walper holds a B.S. and M.B.A. from the University of Southern California and a J.D. from Loyola Law School.

He also co-founded the Debtor Assistance Pro Bono Program in the Central District of California, which has counseled over 8,000 clients yearly.
